 nTampa Bay Community Network calls for entries into the Tampa Bay Vide
 o Awards competition\n[Tampa] Non-commercial video makers are encourag
 ed to enter their videos into the annual Tampa Bay Video\nAwards compe
 tition sponsored by Tampa Bay Community Network, this community’s pu
 blic access cable\ntelevision station. The deadline for submissions on
  DVD’s is 5 PM, Friday, January 15, 2009.\nAll categories of video a
 re welcome including those that have been shown on home computers and 
 TV\nmonitors, Internet websites [e.g., google, facebook, youtube, mysp
 ace, etc.], TBCN’s cable TV channels or other\nnew media. Home-made 
 videos including those produced with personal cameras or cell phones a
 re also\naccepted. Videos entered must have been created and first sho
 wn during the 2009 calendar year.\nVideos of babies, children, pets, g
 arage bands, random acts of kindness, amazing feats, news and sporting
 \nevents, community happenings and the arts are all welcome – just a
 s long as they are non-commercial.\nA panel of independent judges will
  decide winners in 14 categories and three divisions – professional,
  nonprofessional\nand student. Award winners will be announced on Thur

 ension 15.\nTampa Bay Community Network is a service of Speak Up Tampa
  Bay Public Access Television, Inc., a nonprofit\nagency that has been
  managing the local public access facility since April 2000. TBCN prov
 ides City of\nTampa residents with TV video production training, facil
 ities and equipment to get their messages out on cable\ntelevision. Am
 enities include multi- and single-camera studios, edit suites and a re
 mote production vehicle. The\nfacility, located on the grounds of the 
 University of Tampa, is used by members, UT communications students\na
 nd TBCN’s Outreach Department. Outreach and member volunteers cover 
 local non-profits, neighborhood\ngroups, political forums and all mann
 er of community events. They also produce seven series programs\ninclu
 ding Community Forum, Culture Vultures, Hispanic Outreach, Speak Up Pr
 esents, Spotlight on\nGovernment, The Scoop and Tampa Bay Insiders. TB
 CN programming can be viewed on Verizon channels 30\nand 36, Bright Ho
 use Network channels 949 and 950, Comcast channel 20 and via www.tbcn.
